Through modern times, it seems almost impossible to find a balance between personal life and work. While work can seem overwhelming at times, making time for personal life and treating your mind and body right can be a real challenge.
Being in the office for most of the day can be a tough task if you want to have a healthy lifestyle that requires diet, exercise and a proper sleep schedule.
We get carried away with daily stress so often that we forget there are small tips and tricks we can follow in order to maintain a balanced lifestyle.
We’ve made a list of top 3 tips you can follow if you want to stay healthy and work full time.
1. Prepare your lunch in advance
When working for 8 hours a day and more, it’s easy to find yourself feeling hungry and not having anything to eat or snack on. This is why most people often order unhealthy foods as a quick fix to this situation.
Eating a poor diet can only take you so far, and your goal isn’t to gain weight, but to lose some or at best – to maintain your weight, right?
Try to pack your lunch every day, even if you choose to prepare your meals for several days in advance or you cook your lunch just the night before. This way you will find it easier to avoid ordering unhealthy food. Also, it will save you money! There’s no way in having full control over what you eat than making your meals yourself, so start cooking!
Also, if you feel hungry between meals, make sure you pack some snacks too. Choose healthy options like: nuts, fruits, celery sticks or carrots. There’s no way you can go wrong with this.
2. Move!
While you may find it hard to ever sit up from your desk and just disconnect for 5 minutes, it’s essential you do so. Sitting down has many negative side-effects and is often linked to several diseases.
It’s highly recommended that every hour you sit up for at least 5 minutes. Just take a quick walk around the office, stretch and breathe. By doing this regularly, you constantly add up movement to your day.
Plus, your mind will disconnect, even for a short while, so it will be easier for you to cope with all the tasks you have to get accomplished daily.
3. Drink water
We often get so carried away with work, we forget to drink enough water. If you’re easily forgetting how much water you’ve had for the day, it’s easy to track your water intake with an app, or you can use a 500 ml refillable bottle so you can stand up, get it filled and drink it.
If you think this article is stating the obvious, well, it’s not.
